Values...what is the purpose?

Hello everyone

Today I was presented with a topic suggested by one of my followers: Values. Values. Values. Values. Everybody has some sort of values or morals that they hold true and would never go against. Ever find yourself in a situation where you are asked to do something and you pause thinking whether or not to do it. What makes you say yes or no? The ideas or values that you respect and honor deeply. Values are somewhat the ideas of right and wrong; however, some people do have different values. Values reflect a person's true character and tell you alot more about a person than his own words.
For example my values maybe completely different from any one of my followers, but alot of them go hand in hand. One thing I value alot is honesty and loyalty as a friend or significant other. I feel like everybody values these traits or qualities in a person. Honesty and loyalty in a friend goes a long way. I have friends I would hold down or do anything for if I am able to, as long as it aint too outrageous like rob a bank with me lol. Basically as I think about it that is essentially my main value that I hold true to. I remain honest and loyal to friends and to anybody I encounter. I also incorporate the idea of respect for others into that category as well. I am a firm believer of treat others how you want to be treated because I do believe in karma and what goes around comes around. My grandfather use to always tell me: "Its nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice." I never really understood that until I got older, and how true that phrase is. Yes its nice to be important and everybody knows who you are and your in the limelight somewhat, but that does not mean anything if your an asshole or jerk about the situation. People like Bono, Wyclef, and other celebrities that use their influence to better their community live by that idea. My grand papi was a wise fellow that lived by the idea or value of being a nice person and doing the right thing. I too believe deeply in that concept and urge other people to do the same...REAL SPIT

  1. i feel the same way about honesty. i respect and value people who can uphold the truth because sometimes it really is hard to be honest with people. i also totally believe in karma and that it works both ways. if something has been going really well, i try and do positive things to keep up the good energy.

also, i loove that quote by your grandpa. that's a really solid thing to live by.
